Apostle C. S. Johnson a native of Youngstown, Ohio and a graduate of South High School 1970 senior class. A member of the football team, the Concert band, Marching band and the Jazz ensemble. He was O. W. E. class president. He interfaced with mayor and his office, local constituents of the city judicial system, county supervisors, state senator's office as a student representative.
He attended Youngstown State University, Butler Art Institute of Youngstown and Case Western Reserve University of Cleveland Ohio. He served in leadership in both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where he achieved the level of Star Scout.
A member and leader of several local bands. He performed throughout the United States with such popular bands as Graham Central Station, Ohio Players, Stevie Wonder, Chi-lites and Rufus with Chaka Kahn.
The grandson of the late Dr. Stewart Bishop founder of the Holy Temple Church of God In Christ, Presently Pastored by his uncle Pastor Walter A Bishop still in Youngstown.
In 1971 he entered the ministry and was licensed to preach under Assistant Jurisdictional Bishop J. C. Jenkins of the Greater St Beulah C. O. G. I. C. in San Francisco, California.
He was ordained as an elder while serving under his father-in-law Superintendent W. D. Duffey founder and senior pastor of Evangelist C. O. G. I. C. in Pittsburg, California.
He assisted in establishing other new ministries, Pastor Al Williams of Corner Stone C. O. G. I. C. of Pittsburg, CA, Pastor Paul Anderson founder of Destiny Christian Center of Pittsburg, CA. (an extension of Crenshaw Christian Center Pastored by Dr. Fredrick K. C. Price of Los Angeles, CA.)
Later he served as associate minister and assistance pastor to Pastor Henry A. Killings of Shiloh Christian Center of Pittsburg California. While serving as 1st vice president of the prophetic ministry A Company of Prophets. Founded by Prophetess Janice Saleem of Fresno, CA. It was here that God used the prophets to recognize and release him into the office of Apostle.
In 1999, God spoke to Apostle Johnson to launch the ministry of New Life Christian Center of Antioch California Inc., while serving under Bishop Esley Simmons of Sacramento California. Apostle John Colbert and Prophet Nelson Ugwuzor, recognized him as Bishop by the anointing with oil and laying on of hands. Becoming the Chief Apostle and Presiding Bishop of New Life Christian Covenant International. God since has favored him and placed him over many son’s and daughters in the ministry. Overseeing churches and evangelistic ministries through out California and across the United States.
Apostle Johnson was elected 2nd assistant Presiding Bishop of the International Council of Apostles and Bishops in July of 2004 and late became Chief Apostle and Presiding Bishop. Overseeing the Five fold gifts, Bishops, Deacons and Ministry Leaders representing the United States, Africa, England, the Philippines and Samoa.
In June 2006 Apostle was elected 1st assistant Presiding Bishop of the 5-Fold International Ministerial Alliance (5-FIMA).
He is a man with both a servants heart and the heart of a father. He has a love for the work of the ministry and ministry leaders.
Founder of C. S. Johnson Ministries, where he is a conference speaker and teaches seminars in various areas of ministry and leadership.
Striving always for excellence, he has been recognized by churches and the Mayor’s office in the city of Lancaster and the city of Los Angeles.
The father of three son’s and three daughter’s, the grand father of 17 grand-children. He is the husband of Prophetess and Elect Lady Phyllis Johnson for 30 years. Together they work as a team. In all things we say to God be the glory.
